About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: Previous charge experience, patient ratio experience of 6, charting experience with Epic Description: Med Surg specialty is currently seeking a Registered Nurse for night shifts. The position offers options for either 36 or 48 hours per week. First-time travelers are welcome on the unit. Floating to like units within the scope may be required based on facility needs. Weekends may be needed as required. Patient diagnoses include stroke patients and surgery patients. Telemetry central monitoring is available 24/7, but interpretation of dysrhythmias is not required. Key skills include BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, chest tube care, and colostomy/ileostomy management. Additional skills include feeding tube management, heparin and insulin administration, and isolation precautions. Experience with telemetry and IV management is also important. Wound care experience is beneficial. The unit supports interdisciplinary collaboration with various services including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The daily census is approximately 30 patients with patient ratios of 6:1.
