About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years in nursing field License: Required RN license Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - 1 year of EPIC experience - 3 years of experience within specialty required for first-time travelers Description: This position requires floating to other like units or nearby hospitals if needed. Patient diagnoses include orthopedics and bariatric experience on a Telemetry unit. The medication system used is Pyxis. The job requires experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Patient ratios during the day are 4-5:1, while nights have a ratio of 6:1. The unit serves adult and geriatric patients. Daily census is approximately 20 patients. There are 25 beds on the unit. Interdisciplinary support includes various departments such as physical therapy, respiratory services, and pharmacy. Special procedures and capabilities include telemonitoring and responding to rapid response teams. Travelers may be required to float and are eligible for reimbursement for hours spent completing pre-assignment modules. All travelers must demonstrate competencies in tasks before floating to other units.
