Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days (4x10-Hour Shifts, 7:00–17:30) | Onsite | Possible Night Shift Rotation | Weeknight Call: 1–2 nights/week on average | Weekend Call: Approximately every 4–5 weeks (24-hour Saturday or Sunday) | Block schedules cannot be accommodated
Key Responsibilities
- Provide perioperative nursing care in a high-acuity operating room environment, primarily within oncology surgery and general surgery
- Float across surgical specialties as required, demonstrating flexibility and a well-rounded clinical skill set
- Perform scrub and/or circulating duties for complex surgical cases including but not limited to Whipple, Esophagectomy, Ex Lap, Bowel Resection, Thyroidectomy, Parathyroidectomy, Adrenalectomy, Neck Dissection, Free Flaps, Mastectomy, Lumpectomy, Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy, and Melanoma Excisions
- Participate in weeknight and weekend call rotations as scheduled
- Chart accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health record system
- Adhere to all facility policies, including a 100% nicotine-free environment requirement
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
- Oncology Surgery experience with general surgery experience required
- Minimum Level 2 trauma experience required
- Active RN state license (Nebraska license accepted pending)
- BLS certification required
- EPIC charting experience required
- First-time travelers will not be accepted; candidate must reside more than 100 miles from the facility
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Level 1 trauma experience strongly preferred
- DaVinci robotic surgical system experience highly preferred
- Experience in Oncology, Orthopedics, and/or Neurosurgery highly preferred
- Overall well-rounded OR background with demonstrated ability to work across multiple surgical specialties
