About the Position

Job Title: RN Telemetry I Profession: RN Telemetry I Specialty: RN Telemetry I Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:30 AM - 07:00 PM Hours per Shift: 13 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active RN license Certifications: BLS, NIH Certification Must-Have: Critical thinking skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, ability to work in a stressful environment Description: Provides direct nursing care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization. Implements and monitors patient care plans. Monitors, records, and communicates patient conditions as appropriate. Serves as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care. Notes and carries out physician and nursing orders. Assesses and coordinates patients' discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team. The complexity of work requires critical thinking skills and decisive judgment. Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required. The department serves Cardio Pulmonary adult patients and neuro overflow adult patients. It has cardiac telemetry and continuous pulse oximeter capabilities. Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5-6. The unit is supported by Patient Care Technicians and a healthcare unit coordinator. Utilization of virtual sitter monitoring is available, as well as monitor techs to monitor those on telemetry. Travelers are required to work up to 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week schedule period. Holiday requirements will be based on departmental needs.
