Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 26 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Active state license required Certifications: BLS required Must-Have: - General Medical experience - Strong teamwork and communication skills Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in a Medical Surgical unit. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:5/6 on night shifts. A charge nurse is available 24 hours a day. The charge nurse may take patient assignments if there is short staffing. House supervisors are present 24/7. Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) are available with a ratio of 1:10 on nights. Telemetry monitoring is available, and central station monitor techs are responsible for reading strips. There are no ventilators on the unit. Shifts are 12 hours long. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. Three out of six holidays are required throughout the year. Traveling nurses may be required to float based on the hospital's staffing needs. No specific scrub color preference is mandated. Orientation consists of unit/department-specific training.
