About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 06:45 - 19:15 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Registered Nurse License Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Stepdown experience - Telemetry experience Description: Primary patient population includes cardiovascular and vascular surgery patients. Common procedures include open heart surgery and thoracic lung surgery. We also receive overflow medical cardiology patients with various diagnoses. The unit has 40 cardiac surgery stepdown beds and approximately 100 staff members. Staffing typically includes a charge RN, RNs, and patient care technicians. Patient ratios are 1:5 for RNs and 1:13 for patient care technicians. Commonly used equipment includes IV pumps and various patient lifts. Experience with cardiac medication management is essential. Candidates should be team players and enjoy a fast-paced environment. Flexibility is important for this role. Weekend requirements include a minimum of 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period. No on-call hours are required.
