About the Position
Job Title: Cath Lab RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cath Lab Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10 Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: 2 years of experience License: SC license or Compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: EP/Cath experience required Description: Position available for a Cath Lab RN. This position involves working 4x10-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM. The patient ratio is 1:1. Weekend call is required once a month, with one call shift on a weekday each week. Candidates may be first-timers in this specialty. A South Carolina license or Compact license must be held prior to commencement. Candidates must maintain active national certifications in BLS and ACLS. A radiation badge is required and must be provided by the agency. No floating between service lines will occur. Candidates should have experience with electrophysiology and cath lab procedures. The facility conducts peripheral and coronary diagnostic and interventional procedures. Support services include respiratory services, phlebotomy, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response teams. Travelers should be aware that assignments may include emergency response duties during hurricane season, running from June through November. All requested time off must be included at the time of submission; no additional time off requests will be accepted post-submission. Candidates must complete all compliance tasks promptly to ensure timely starts. Previous staff must have been separated from the system for one year before returning. Priority will be given to candidates with an active South Carolina license. Travelers should be mindful of the 60-mile radius rule for local candidates. This position requires a strong clinical background in cardiac procedures. Skills required include cardiac stent placement, interventional catheterizations, and procedural sedation administration and monitoring. Daily census averages around 20 cases, with five rooms available in the unit. Candidates should have a solid understanding of equipment such as Impella and balloon pumps.
