About the Position
Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Profession: CNA Specialty: Long-Term Care (LTC) Duration: Full-Time Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 37.5 (after lunch breaks) Experience: One (1) year of previous long-term care or nursing assistant experience required License: Client Nursing Assistant Certification Required Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: High School Diploma or GED Description: Under the direction of the licensed nursing personnel, performs direct and indirect resident care. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret the appropriate information needed. Provides care as required by adult and geriatric patient groups. Resident's Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) needs are met as outlined in the plan of care and according to policies and procedures. Includes hygiene, grooming, dressing, incontinence/catheter care, elimination/toileting needs, and turning/positioning. Documentation is completed per protocol. Maintains resident's environment and safety as outlined in the plan of care and in accordance with policies and procedures. Includes answering call lights and alarms promptly, provision of safety mats and low beds, and maintaining cleanliness of the unit. Reports resident's rights, refusals, and concerns to the Charge Nurse promptly. Identifies and reports changes in resident physical, emotional, and psychosocial status. Meets resident's nutritional needs as outlined in the plan of care. Includes meal delivery, tray preparation, adaptive equipment, feeding, and honoring resident preferences. Documents all actions per protocol. Addresses resident's rehabilitative needs as outlined in the plan of care. Includes range of motion exercises, ambulation, transfers, and the proper use of assistive devices. Documents all activities per protocol. Occupational exposure to blood borne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve potential contact with blood, body fluids, or tissues.
