About the Position

Job Title: RN MCU Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 PM - 07:30 AM Hours per Shift: 12.5 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: RN License required Certifications: BLS, CPI/MOAB required Must-Have: Experience with EMR systems (Epic) in a similar unit within the last 12 months Description: The Medical Care Unit accommodates patients who are less acute and may be awaiting placement to a long-term care facility. Patients may present with a variety of medical diagnoses. Nurses may be required to float between different units as necessary. The unit is designated for providing intense rehabilitation services. Telemetry experience is preferred. Nurses will deliver care utilizing the nursing process of assessment, planning, intervention, implementation, and evaluation in coordination with other health team members. Effective interaction with patients, significant others, and health team members is essential, while maintaining high nursing standards. High-quality care will be provided to diverse patient populations, including geriatric, medical/surgical, adult, telemetry, and patients with psychiatric issues. The traveler may occasionally be placed on call during periods of low census and should be able to respond and arrive on-site within one hour. Estimated hours per week are 36. Floating between units is required. Weekend rotation is necessary.
