Contract | Night Shift (6:30 PM – 6:30 AM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in an 18-bed Trauma ICU setting, managing critically ill adult and pediatric patients (ages 15+) with diagnoses including trauma, sepsis, stroke, ARDS, MODS, COPD, and cardiac arrest
- Titrate drips including vasopressors, paralytics, narcotics, sedation, and antiarrhythmics per physician orders and unit protocols
- Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms using Draeger heart monitoring with centralized telemetry; no monitor techs on unit
- Manage and troubleshoot advanced hemodynamic monitoring equipment including arterial lines, CVPs, Swan-Ganz catheters, ICP monitoring, EV-1000, IABP, and Impella devices
- Operate and troubleshoot respiratory therapy equipment ranging from nasal cannula to mechanical ventilation
- Float to inpatient units across the facility as needed, excluding Maternity and NICU
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Prior ICU experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
- Ability to pass an open-book skills competency exam with a minimum score of 90% during orientation
- Ability to read and independently interpret cardiac rhythm strips
- Artificial nails are prohibited per facility patient care policy; compliance is required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced hemodynamic monitoring devices such as IABP, Impella, Swan-Ganz catheters, and ICP monitoring
- Experience in a high-acuity Level I trauma center environment
- Familiarity with hypothermia protocols and rapid transfusion systems
