About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Mid Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: - Minimum of 2 years of experience required - Level I trauma experience required License: - State license required Certifications: - ACLS - BCLS by AHA - PALS - TNCC - NIH Must-Have: - Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Epic charting experience Description: Locals accepted. Same pay for locals. RTO must be submitted at the time of application. No additional RTO will be approved later on. No RTO allowed for the month of July. Specialty in Emergency Room. On-call is not required. Weekend work is required, with 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) per 4-week schedule. You may be scheduled to work 1, 2, or all 3 days of the weekend. There may be floating to pediatrics if necessary. A high patient ratio is expected, experiencing ratios of 1:5-6, which could increase to 8 depending on patient volume. Traveler must have Level I trauma experience. Traveler is expected to work 3 weekends (Friday-Sunday) during the 4-week schedule. Modules are not billable; please account for 5 hours. The unit is a Level 1 trauma center, stroke center, and pediatric emergency department. The department utilizes a 5-level triage system and advanced nursing guidelines to expedite patient care. Patient care and treatment involve adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 250 patients with 100 beds available. There are various interdisciplinary support services available, including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Staffing ratios can range from 1:4-6 during days and 1:4-7 during nights. Education modules must be completed before the traveler can begin working on the floor. Special equipment and technologies are utilized within the emergency room. All candidates must provide proof of high school level education. This position requires specific certifications that cannot pend beyond the contract start.
