About the Position
Job Title: RN Labor and Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00 AM - 07:30 PM Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Active Registered Nurse License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NRP, Advanced NRP, Client Fetal Monitoring Must-Have: Level IV trained Labor & Delivery nurse Familiarity with Magnesium and insulin drips Advanced external fetal monitoring experience Description: This is a brand-new level IV Women and Infants Hospital. The unit features a 15-bed Labor and Delivery area, a 20-bed High-Risk Unit, and an 8-bed OB Triage. Staff must adhere to AWHONN guidelines, maintaining a 1:1 nurse-to-patient ratio in active labor and two patients in early, latent labor. Charge nurses are responsible for both the Labor and Delivery area and the high-risk unit, as well as serving as baby nurses for deliveries. Nurses will work 36 hours per week, with every third weekend and holiday rotation. It is essential to demonstrate commitment to attendance, as there is no tolerance for calling in.
