About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required License: Must possess an active RN license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Telemetry competency required Description: This position is for a Neuro/PCU Registered Nurse. Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of experience. The shift is nights, with a schedule of either 3x12s or 4x12s. Patient ratios are typically 1:4-5. Every other weekend is required. Candidates may need to float within the scope to meet facility needs. No on-call requirement. First-time travelers are not accepted. Previous charge experience is preferred. Telemetry experience is essential. Certified applicants must hold BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications. The unit provides care to adult and geriatric populations. The average daily census is 14 patients. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. Participation in emergency response teams may be required during hurricane season. All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application. Approval of time off requests will be based on unit needs. A traveler may be called off for 1 shift every 2 weeks. Documentation of any call-outs without medical reasons may be necessary.
