About the Position

The role requires working 3x12 hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM. Holiday rotation and weekend coverage are required, with every other weekend commitment. Travelers will need to float within the scope to meet facility needs. Candidates should have at least 1 year of relevant experience; 2 years is preferred. First-time travelers are not accepted. A valid state or Compact license must be in hand before the start date. Essential certifications include ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS. Experience with Epic charting system is mandatory. The position requires specialized nursing skills, including managing ports and arterial lines, assisting with chest tube procedures, and administration of blood products. Candidates should be knowledgeable in cardiovascular care management, care of patients on ECMO, and ventilator management. Duties include monitoring central venous pressures and interpreting arterial blood gases. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients, with a focus on post-open heart surgery care. Travelers should be prepared for participation in emergency response teams during hurricane season.
