First-timers accepted with emergency room experience. Description: The position is for an Emergency Room Registered Nurse. The nurse will work 3 shifts of 12 hours during the night. Patient ratios will be based on acuity, typically 4 patients per nurse. Weekend shifts are required every other weekend. The clinician may float within scope to meet facility needs. The facility does not require on-call duty. The Emergency Department is part of an acute care hospital. Total staffed beds in the hospital are 119, with an average daily census of 76 patients. There are 16 rooms and a total of 18 beds in the Emergency Department. The patient age groups include neonates, infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics. Interdisciplinary support is available, including physical therapy and social services. The expected patient diagnoses range from general emergencies to trauma cases. Nurses should possess skills in various emergency procedures and patient care. The facility emphasizes compliance with safety and care standards. All travelers should be aware that during hurricane season, they may be assigned to emergency response teams. Hurricane season runs from June through November each year. Travelers are advised not to confirm new assignments during this period if it poses a problem.
