About the Position

Job Title: RN ED Observation Float Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 3 shifts per week Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of Med/Surg experience License: RN License (New York) Certifications: - BLS (American Heart Association) - ACLS (American Heart Association) - NIHSS - Telemetry Must-Have: - RN License (New York) - BLS Certification - Two years of Med/Surg Experience - ACLS Certification - NIHSS Certification - Telemetry experience Description: The Observation unit cares for adult patients needing additional observation to determine if the patient's condition is serious enough for admission or if the patient can safely be treated and released home. The Observation unit operates in a very fast-paced environment that handles 20 to 27 patients per day. The average length of stay for patients in this unit is 27 hours. Provider coverage is available 24/7. Care is provided for a diverse adult population of both emergency observation and admitted boarding patients. Patients in this unit will range from short stays to full admissions.
