Position: Registered Nurse – Medical/Surgical (Stroke Stepdown) $$SN$$
Location: Utica, New York
Shift: Nights – 3x12s (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
Duration: 13 weeks

Job Duties
• Provide comprehensive nursing care for Medical/Surgical Stroke Stepdown patients.
• Assess, monitor, and treat patients with stroke, altered mental status, renal disease, dialysis needs, COPD, CHF, and other medical conditions.
• Administer medications, perform patient assessments, and respond to changes in patient condition.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR.
• Float to other appropriate units as needed based on staffing requirements.
• Maintain patient safety while following hospital policies and evidence-based practices.

Requirements

• Active New York RN license required.
• Minimum 2 years of recent Medical/Surgical nursing experience with Stroke Stepdown experience required.
• Previous travel nursing experience required.
• BLS certification (AHA) required.
• NIHSS certification required (may be obtained prior to start).
• Epic EMR experience required.
• Skills checklist matching specialty required.
• Must provide a current Nursys license verification report.
• Valid driver's license with address matching candidate demographics required.
• 75-mile radius rule applies (local candidates accepted at local rate).
• All requested RTO must be submitted at the time of application.
