Job Details

  • Position: Registered Nurse – Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
  • Location: Arcata
  • Contract Length: 13 Weeks
  • Shift: Night Shift
  • Schedule: 3x12
  • Experience Required: 2 Years
  • Weekly Pay: $2500 to $2700

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill patients with complex medical and surgical conditions
  • Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in patient condition
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, and critical care treatments as prescribed
  • Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and hemodynamic monitoring devices
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Respond rapidly to medical emergencies, code situations, and life-saving interventions
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and recovery expectations
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and critical care standards
  • Advocate for patients while providing compassionate, patient-centered care throughout their ICU stay

Requirements

  • Active California RN License
  • Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
  • Current BLS Certification required
  • Current ACLS Certification required
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred
  • Experience with ventilator management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, and hemodynamic monitoring
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Experience with electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
  • Commitment to delivering exceptional patient-centered critical care
