About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Critical Care/ICU setting License: Valid RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CCRN Must-Have: - Cardiovascular ICU experience preferred - Ability to provide care for ventilated patients - Experience in interpretation and management of dysrhythmias - Experience with monitoring pulmonary artery lines/Swan Ganz Description: The position requires the nurse to float between units. Weekends are required every other weekend. Block scheduling is expected. The expected patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:1 and 1:2. The daily census in the unit is 24 patients. The unit accepts adult and geriatric patients. Common patient diagnoses include post-open heart surgeries, vascular surgeries, and cardiogenic shock. Patients may require use of devices such as IABP, impellas, and CRRT. Experience with common ICU procedures and equipment is needed. Interdisciplinary support is provided by various healthcare professionals. The nurse is expected to adhere to compliance protocols regarding scheduling and time off requests. Candidates must provide references covering the last 3 years. Travelers may be required to float between facilities if necessary. Candidates should not directly contact facility staff unless an interview has been confirmed. Module completion prior to the start date is necessary.
