About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ER Holding Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years required in a large urban hospital License: Active nursing license required Certifications: BLS required; ACLS and CPI preferred Must-Have: - EPIC charting experience - Behavioral health patient care experience - Ability to float to various units as needed Description: This position offers a 36 or 48-hour option with a 13 or 26-week contract option. Travelers will be among the first to float as needed to meet staffing needs. The unit is a 20-bed general medical surgical and telemetry unit. Patients may include those undergoing total knee and hip replacements, complicated orthopedic cases, and those with various medical conditions such as pulmonary, sepsis, GI, endocrine, cardiac, renal, and psychiatric illnesses. The facility has a secured floor for patients with underlying behavioral health conditions. Travelers will receive training for safety and de-escalation. Candidates must be comfortable caring for a behavioral health patient population. Patient ratios are 1:5 during the day and 1:6 at night, with a potential ratio of 1:7 at night in rare instances. All necessary drips management is required. Travelers will float within the scope of practice based on facility needs. RNs are expected to engage with interdisciplinary care teams including CNAs, care techs, and transport teams. The facility is 100% nicotine-free. Travelers are required to work a predetermined number of weekend shifts. Requests for time off will be accepted up to two weeks. Travelers must work 2 out of 3 major holidays. Local candidates will not be considered; candidates must reside more than 100 miles from the facility. Licenses pending approval are accepted, but candidates must have their license in hand for travel arrangements. All staff must wear designated scrubs with the facility logo.
