About the Position

Job Title: RN - MedSurg/Tele Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 18 months Med/Tele RN experience License: RN Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Basic Med/Tele skillset including cardiac rhythm interpretation, experience with non-titrating cardiac drips, wound care, drain/tube management, PIV starts, and central line management. Description: Seeking an experienced RN for MedSurg/Tele unit. The facility has 241 licensed beds and is a Level 3 Trauma Center. The average census on the unit is 32 patients per day. Patient populations include those with strokes, respiratory illnesses, renal failure, and wounds. Patient ratios are generally 1:5-6, with potential surge staffing ratios of 1:7-8. Support staff includes CNAs for ADLs, mobility, and feeding. Phlebotomy and IV/VAT team are available 24/7. Telemetry monitoring is provided consistently. Technology includes EMR systems, IV pumps, and monitors. Floating between facilities within the region may be required. Travelers may be called back due to low census. Holiday expectations include working 75% of holidays. RTO requests are allowed, with up to 6 days off, excluding holidays. Unit culture is described as patient-centered and collaborative.
