About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience required. License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand or be in the application process to apply. Certifications: BLS required; CNOR preferred. Must-Have: General OR and Trauma experience required. Cerner experience preferred. Level I trauma experience required. Bariatric case experience: Laparoscopic assisted cases. General surgery case experience: Appendectomy, Cholecystectomy, Colon resection, Hernia repair (inguinal/umbilical), Laparoscopic assisted procedures, Mastectomy, Thyroidectomy (partial/total), Whipple. Client case skills/experience: Cervical fusion, Craniotomy, Laminectomy/discectomy, Lumbar fusion. Orthopedic case skills/experience: Arthroscopy, Carpal Tunnel release, Closed reduction of fractures, Open reduction of fractures. Plastic surgery case skills/experience: Free Flap - Microvascular. Transplant skills/experience: Organ donation. Urology case skills/experience: Cystoscopy, Nephrectomy, Prostatectomy. Trauma case skills/experience: Amputations, Gunshot/stab wounds, MVA (multiple injuries). Emergency management skills/experience: Code response, Fire safety, Latex Allergy, Malignant Hyperthermia. Professional knowledge and skills: Administration of blood products, Infection control, Clienttion Safety, Specimen Handling/labeling, Universal Protocol (Time out) Procedure, Urinary bladder catheterization. Description: The position requires working with all service lines except cardiovascular. Candidates must have a minimum of 1 weekend shift per month and will be on-call, approximately once per week. Travelers may float within their skill set to meet facility needs. Local candidates are not accepted; applicants should reside at least 50 miles from the facility. Requests for time off will be reviewed and subject to approval by management. The client may call off up to 36 hours per thirteen-week assignment without guaranteeing pay for the cancelled hours. This position requires various case experiences spanning multiple specialties. The successful candidate will engage in complex surgical procedures. All required certifications must be provided based on the job description. Module completion and strict adherence to deadlines are crucial for this role. Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to compliance and readiness for the assignment.
