About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience required License: MO or compact license required Certifications: BCLS required; ACLS recommended Must-Have: Experience with surgical patients following the Enhanced Recovery after Surgery protocol Proficient in orthopedic procedures and neuro surgeries Experience managing medical-surgical patients including those with co-morbidities Description: The Registered Nurse will provide care to medical-surgical and telemetry patients. Nurses will manage a patient ratio of 1:5-6. The position requires floating to other medical-surgical and telemetry floors as necessary. Weekends will be required every other week, with a total of 6 weekend shifts in a 6-week period. Candidates must specialize in surgical patients and have pre/post-operative experience. The nurse will work a 3x12 hour shift schedule, totaling 36 hours per week. The job includes collaborating with an interdisciplinary team for comprehensive patient care. Charting will be completed using an electronic medical record system. Daily census includes adult and geriatric patients with various nursing needs. Post-surgical experience is mandatory, including care for patients recovering from total joint replacements and other surgical procedures. The nurse will be expected to respond to rapid changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions. Additional duties may require assisting with specialized procedures as needed. The role emphasizes the importance of effective communication and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Travel experience is preferred for this position.
