Job Title

Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Float Pool)

Newport News, VA

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a Medical Surgical / Telemetry float pool setting
• Float to various units based on facility needs
• Monitor and assess patients requiring telemetry and medical-surgical level care
• Document patient care accurately and thoroughly using EPIC electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, high-quality patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Active Virginia RN license in hand at time of submittal, or valid compact license with proof provided
• Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications through the American Heart Association (AHA)
• EPIC electronic health records experience required
• NIH Stroke Scale and stroke education required
• Minimum one supervisory reference required at time of submittal
• Specialty experience in Medical Surgical / Telemetry within the last year required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience working in a float pool environment across multiple units
• Familiarity with acute care hospital settings and associated protocols
