About the Position

RN - Neonatal ICU

NICU RN

We are a fast paced Level IV NICU. We care for infants from 23 weeks and beyond, with
varying degrees of acuity.

Manager will be interviewing.

    • 885 licensed beds (Adults); 196 (Pediatrics)
    • Level 1 Trauma Designation
    • Teaching Hospital: Yes, Academic Medical Center
    • Chest Pain Center - Adults
    • Stroke Center
  • Department Information:
    • Census: average daily census - 71
    • Minimum Years of Experience required? 2 years NICU exp required
    • Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes
  • Patient Types/Common Diagnoses:
    • 23 week - term infants
    • Surgical needs (NEC, CDH, ect.)
  • Required License, National Certification, Certs (BLS, ACLS, etc.), or other position specific requirements such as Driver's License and/or Insurance:
    • BLS
    • NRP
  • Skills required:
    • 2 years of NICU experience required
    • Basic vent management
    • Central line management
    • Pre/post-surgical management
    • Tracheostomy management
    • G-tube management
    • Basic breastfeeding skills
    • Bottle feeding skills
    • Gavage feeding management
    • Blood transfusion
    • Infant venous stick skills
  • Support within the Department:
    • NAs with a 1:20 ratio
    • 2 Charge RNs each shift
  • Technology/Equipment:
    • EMR: EPIC

  • Scheduling:
    • Weekend rotation: every other at minimum
    • No call
    • Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
    • RTO: Resource Team approval
    • Shift times: 7a-7p
    • Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
