Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical (Travel)

Flowood, Mississippi

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Travel | Nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 3/2 split schedule (alternating 4-shift and 3-shift weeks) | Alternating weekends | Overtime after 48 hours | 8-week assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit in an inpatient hospital setting
• Manage a patient assignment at a 6:1 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using Cerner EMR
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
• Monitor patient status throughout the shift and respond promptly to changes in condition

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in Mississippi
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Proficiency with Cerner electronic medical records system
• Permanent residence located more than 50 miles from the facility

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience working in a high-acuity Medical Surgical environment
• Familiarity with travel nursing expectations including schedule flexibility and rapid onboarding
