Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | Shift: 6:45 AM – 7:15 PM | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a 101-bed unit and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 for behavioral holds
  • Utilize Cerner for all clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information throughout each visit
  • Operate unit equipment including Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with department protocols
  • Demonstrate AIDET communication standards, respectful behavior, and patient experience best practices during every patient interaction
  • Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed to meet departmental staffing requirements
  • Collaborate with techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks to ensure seamless patient care delivery

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room setting
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
  • ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
  • Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
  • Flexibility to work in all areas of the Emergency Department and meet departmental scheduling needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume Emergency Department exceeding 100,000 annual visits
  • Familiarity with Cerner electronic health record system
  • Experience working in a multicultural, diverse patient population environment
