About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 07:00-19:00 Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 year License: Current RN license required Certifications: ACLS required Must-Have: Advanced skills needed: ACLS, familiar with cardiac drip and insulin drips Description: Unit profile: Number of beds: 29 Patient ratios: 1:4 ideally, currently running 1:5 Unit staffing description: Unit clerk and patient care tech available Type of equipment: Alaris IV pumps, Welch Allyn vital signs machines, bladder scan, vein finder Documentation system: Meditech Scheduling requirements: 36 hours per week Floating policy: All staff float to areas of their competencies Patient experience requirements: Must provide safe, high-quality, and compassionate care Certifications required: ACLS Dress code: Royal blue scrubs, no artificial or gel nails Unit guidelines and policies: Vital signs every 4 hours (may be more frequent based on patient condition), blood glucose checks as ordered, required documentation and assessment every shift Any additional information to entice a worker to select this unit for their assignment: Staff in PCU are very cohesive and work well as a team. Looking for candidates who work well with others. Staff self-schedule and work with candidates, especially if they prefer night shifts three in a row. Hospital culture and managerial support are highly praised. The community is rich in history and charm, offering a vibrant downtown area with restaurants and nightlife.
