About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Emergency Room Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-hour Nights Hours per Shift: 36 hours per week Experience: Minimum of 2 years License: Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS, TNCC Must-Have: - Preferred experience in a Level 3 Trauma Center - Ability to float throughout designated zones Description: Travelers are expected to float within the designated region. Each zone covers a 60-mile radius from the center city. Responsibility for securing housing that allows for feasible travel is required. Clinicians must be in-state for the duration of orientation. Unit Overview: This is a Level 3 Trauma Center with the Gold Seal of Approval for Orthopedic Trauma. Emergency Stroke Ready certification is maintained. Patients: An average of 150 patients are treated daily in the emergency room. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4-5 based on acuity. Common Diagnoses: Conditions treated include abdominal pain, diabetes mellitus, NSTEMI, pneumonia, trauma, stroke, and hypertension. Standard ER medications are used for management. Support Staff: Registered Nurses will have support from techs who assist with unit secretary work and triage. Respiratory Therapy is available 24/7 for breathing treatments and ABGs. Additional Details: There are no monitor techs; RNs are required to interpret telemetry readings. Point of Care lab testing is performed by trained RNs. Shifts are scheduled by leadership based on unit needs. Weekend and holiday requirements are every other. Please apply if you meet the qualifications and are interested in this position.
