About the Position
RN – Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)
Position Summary
Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a strong background in Level III and/or Level IV NICU. Candidates must be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced neonatal intensive care environment.
Requirements
- Active RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Level III and/or Level IV NICU experience
- BLS Certification
- NRP Certification
- First-time travelers considered with manager approval
Patient Population
Care for critically ill newborns with conditions including:
- Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
- Transient Tachypnea of the Newborn (TTN)
- Meconium Aspiration Syndrome (MAS)
- Bronchopulmonary Dysplasia (BPD)
- Congenital Heart Defects
- Patent Ductus Arteriosus (PDA)
- Persistent Pulmonary Hypertension of the Newborn (PPHN)
- Seizures
- Intraventricular Hemorrhage (IVH)
- Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE)
- Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC)
- Feeding Intolerance
- Gastroesophageal Reflux (GER)
- Renal Failure
- Congenital Anomalies
- Sepsis
- Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome (NAS)
- TORCH Infections
- Hypothermia
- Hypoglycemia

- Ventilator management
- High-Frequency Oscillatory Ventilation (HFOV)
- Tracheostomy care
- Oral and nasal suctioning
- Vasoactive drip titration
- Sedation and analgesia drip management
- Arterial line and Central Venous Pressure (CVP) monitoring
- Invasive line management
- Sterile and aseptic technique
- Chest tube management
- Feeding tube, G-tube, and J-tube management
- Foley catheter insertion and care
- Epidural and PCA management
- IV pump management
- Bedside procedural assistance
- Discharge education
- Basic dressing changes

- EVD management
- Camino ICP monitoring
- CRRT
- Neonatal ECMO

Floating
May float to:
- Neonatal Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
- Pediatric CVICU
- PICU
- General Pediatrics (as a helping hand unless experienced in those specialties)
Schedule
- Shift: 12-hour Nights
- Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Additional Friday and Monday rotations within the scheduling cycle
- Holiday rotation required
- No on-call requirements
