About the Position

Job Title: Operating Room Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Operating Room / Circulate Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Days M-F (5 8s), rotate call Hours per Shift: 36 Experience: Minimum 2 years in Operating Room and Recovery Room nursing preferred License: Current RN license required Certifications: Current BLS/CPR certification required. ACLS & PALS required. Must-Have: Experience in nursing assessment, recognizing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications Description: Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process. Collaborates with physicians and multidisciplinary team members. Provides physical and psychological support to patients, friends, and families. Supervises assigned team members. Nursing care is rendered to all patients in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act, hospital, Nursing Department, and regulatory standards. Responsible for care of patients in the operating room. Provides for patient care as a circulating and/or scrub nurse and teacher to ensure safe and therapeutically effective nursing care. Maintains the work area. Participates in 24-hour call coverage. Uses skills in nursing assessment to include recognizing post-anesthesia and post-operative complications.
