About the Position

Job Title: RN - Emergency Department Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of current acute care hospital Emergency Department experience License: Registered Nurse (RN) License Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIH Description: Travel position for a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. Unit information includes 52 beds and 134 staff members. Day shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 technician, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod. Night shift consists of 1 charge nurse, 4 nurses, 1 technician, 1 unit clerk, 1 physician, and 1 midlevel provider per pod. Patient ratios are typically 3:1, with low acuity at 5:1 and pediatric patients managed through team nursing. Equipment used includes Alaris and Meditech/CPN. Ideal candidates should have a good grasp on patient experience. Candidates must be able to maintain pace in a fast-moving environment. Diversity and quick learning are valued traits in applicants. Experience in large facilities is preferred, along with proficiency in Meditech. Typical procedures performed include IV starts, medication administration, sedations, and pediatric care. Expectations include scanning patients' medications every time. We seek individuals who can handle a dynamic and busy emergency department setting.
