Registered Nurse – Cardiac Progressive Care / Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Every other weekend and every other holiday required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 44-bed intermediate cardiac stepdown unit with a 1:4 patient ratio
• Monitor and manage patients including post-op CABG/valve, thoracotomy, vascular, arrhythmia, CHF, post-procedure cath, pacer, defibrillation, ablations, acute chest pain/MI, and med/surg overflow
• Administer and manage vasoactive and cardiac drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin
• Float to all inpatient units as needed based on census demands
• Accurately document all patient care activities using electronic health record systems
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high patient-turnover environment while managing tasks independently and in a timely manner

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin RN License
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA or ARC accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of strong cardiac experience in a Cardiac SDU, Intermediate Cardiac, or Cardiac ICU setting
• Minimum 2 years of IMC/PCU/Telemetry experience
• Demonstrated experience with Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Nitroglycerin drips (required to advance in the interview process)
• Minimum 1 year of recent EPIC charting experience

Preferred Experience / Skills

• At least one prior travel nursing assignment completed
• Ability to pass an EKG competency test within the first week of hire
• Experience with post-op cardiac surgical patients including CABG, valve repair, and thoracotomy
