About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: PCU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years in relevant specialty License: Valid nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: - Charge experience preferred - Epic charting experience required - Previous experience in cardiothoracic surgery preferred Description: The position is in a cardiothoracic surgery PCU. Patients will primarily be adults and geriatrics. The daily census is approximately 35 patients. Staffing and scheduling is self-directed. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The patient population includes those undergoing cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgeries. High-risk populations with multiple comorbidities are common. Responsibilities include interpretation and management of dysrhythmias. Nurses may be required to float within scope if necessary. A minimum of one year of relevant experience is required. Candidates are expected to comply with health and safety regulations. Return staff must have been gone for one year before reapplying. Modules and training materials will be provided during orientation.
