Registered Nurse – NICU (Neonatal ICU)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | 36 Hours per Week Guaranteed

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit setting with patient ratios of 1:2 to 1:3 depending on acuity
• Monitor, assess, and document neonatal patient status using Cerner electronic health records
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to support neonatal patient outcomes
• Fulfill weekend requirements, with a minimum of 2 weekends per 4-week scheduling period
• Float within Women's Services scope on a rare, as-needed basis to meet facility needs
• Complete required orientation modules and annual competency modules as directed by the Nurse Educator onsite

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of NICU nursing experience; first-time travel nurses are not accepted
• Active Tennessee RN license or valid Compact license in hand at time of submittal
• Current BLS certification required
• Current NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification required
• Prior experience with Cerner charting is required
• No pending license accepted at time of submittal

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Ability to accommodate flexible scheduling; block schedules cannot be guaranteed but requests will be considered
• Comfort working with high-acuity neonatal patients across varying care levels
