Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:15 AM – 7:15 PM) | Onsite | Every other weekend and some holidays required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide acute care nursing for patients who are admitted and boarding in the Emergency Department while awaiting inpatient bed availability, in designated areas or hallway settings as needed
• Monitor and manage care for boarded patients in a Level I Emergency Department environment
• Float to acute care areas within scope of practice to meet facility needs when boarded patient census is low
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner electronic health records system
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe and timely patient transitions from the ED to inpatient units

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in Tennessee or a Compact license held in hand at time of submittal — pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; candidates with strong relevant backgrounds may be considered
• Current ACLS certification required
• Prior experience with Cerner electronic health records required
• Acute Care and/or Medical-Surgical Telemetry experience required
• Minimum of 2 professional references (may be pending at time of submittal)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a Level I Emergency Department setting
• Comfort and flexibility working in fast-paced, high-acuity environments including hallway patient care situations
• Experience accommodating a block scheduling format
