Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a combined 30-bed medical surgical and 8-bed progressive care unit managing diagnoses such as pneumonia, COPD, congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism, and COVID-19
• Administer and monitor intravenous medications, oxygen therapy, non-invasive ventilation (BiPAP/CPAP), heated high flow, and mechanical ventilation
• Perform cardiac telemetry monitoring and provide postoperative care including chest tube and tracheostomy management
• Assist with and monitor patients undergoing moderate sedation during bronchoscopies
• Accurately document all patient care activities using Epic; administer medications via Acudose and manage IV fluids via Alaris pumps
• Float to Med-Surg units as needed; travelers may be the first reassigned to another department based on census

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in South Dakota or a compact state
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications
• Proficiency with BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, oxygen titration, and telemetry monitoring
• Experience with medical-surgical patient care and moderate sedation monitoring
• Ability to badge in and out at the facility for all shifts
• Navy blue scrubs required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with mechanical ventilation and intermediate/progressive care (IMC) nursing
• Specialty certification in Progressive Care Nursing (PCCN) or Medical-Surgical Nursing (CMSRN)
• Familiarity with Epic electronic health records documentation
