Registered Nurse (RN) | Psych
Location: Jamestown, VA

About the Position

NIGHTS - 12HR: 7p-7a with weekends as assigned; holidays as assigned

Requirements

** Must be comfortable in a busy, fast paced acute psych hospital. Adaptable, Team player, versatile.
•    Must be flexible to work any nights of the week including EOW
•    Patient population is all adult: 100 level are depression and suicidal – 200 level are severe mental illness – 300 level are mix of both. Small detox unit as well. 
•    Must be able to float between units. 
•    Med cart, pass meds, admissions, discharges, patient assessments. (10-15 daily) 
•    Fast paced. May have to deal with aggression with some physical holds.
•    No IV or Wound Care. 
•    Locals are the same rate as travelers. 
•    40 % voluntary admission and 60% committed patients (temporary 8 days then transferred).
•    Approximate ratio 1:12 – At least 2 nurses per unit. Sometimes 1 RN and 1 LPN. 
•    EOW and 1 holiday per winter season required.
•    Handle with Care certification required but can provide that onsite if needed.
