Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Days and Nights Available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care as a float pool RN across Medical Surgical and Telemetry units, with primary assignment to designated parent units and occasional float to other units within scope of practice
- Monitor, read, and interpret cardiac telemetry strips using Philips monitoring systems; pass a required cardiac rhythm competency exam prior to assignment
- Care for patients with diagnoses including CHF, chest pain, cardiac catheterization, pneumonia, COPD, chronic renal disease, orthopedic conditions, and oncology (chemotherapy administration performed by permanent staff only)
- Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of approximately 1:5–6, adjusting based on patient acuity
- Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, respiratory therapy, and monitor technicians to deliver safe, coordinated patient care
- Adhere to weekend rotation requirements (every other weekend, Saturday and Sunday) and participate in the facility holiday rotation schedule alongside permanent staff
Required Qualifications
- Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of West Virginia
- Current BLS certification (required)
- Current ACLS certification (required)
- Ability to pass a facility cardiac rhythm competency exam prior to beginning assignment
- Ability to read and independently interpret telemetry strips
- Must reside within a 50-mile radius of the facility; valid, unexpired driver's license required and must be submitted with application
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a Medical Surgical and/or Telemetry setting, including familiarity with common diagnoses such as CHF, COPD, and post-cardiac catheterization care
- Experience working in a float pool or multi-unit environment
- Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
