About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 4x10-Hour Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: 2 years of experience required License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS preferred Must-Have: - Previous experience in orthopedic sports medicine required - Scrub experience preferred - Robotics and ENT experience strongly preferred Description: Previous permanent staff are not permitted to work as travelers. All facilities honor active compact licenses. On-call shifts are 12 hours. Weekdays are from 7 pm to 7 am and weekends/holidays are either from 7 pm to 7 am or 7 am to 7 pm. On-call hours are divided evenly among approximately 15 RNs. Weekend coverage is for on-call support only. Floating may be required to other campuses. Common procedures include ortho, general surgery, urology, gynecology, and spine. Circulating responsibilities include ENT, total joints, neuro/spine, OB-GYN, ortho, plastics, and robotics. Scrub responsibilities may include trauma and vascular. The patient demographic includes 30% inpatient, 70% outpatient, and 10% pediatrics. Required skills include robotics, procedure sedation, blood administration, drains, epidural pumps, PICC/Central lines, and wound vac care. Experience with robotics and ENT is strongly preferred. Additional skills should include conscious sedation monitoring and various surgical procedures. Interdisciplinary support is available on the unit. The daily census is around 20 cases. The unit consists of 10 rooms and 10 beds. Patient age groups include adolescents, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics. References are required covering the last year of work experience. Modules are non-billable and completed pre-start and annually. Time spent on modules is self-reported.
