About the Position

Job Title: Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) Profession: LVN / LPN Specialty: Behavioral Health Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (07:00 - 15:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year of recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred License: CA LVN License required Certifications: BLS, CPI or ProAct or PMAB, EPIC experience within the last 6 months Must-Have: - Recent inpatient psychiatric experience preferred - Experience with patient diagnoses including ADHD, Bipolar Disorder, Autism Spectrum, Eating Disorders, PTSD, Anxiety Disorder, Depression, Major Depressive Disorder, Psychotic Disorder, and Oppositional Defiant Disorder Description: Local behavioral health unit differs. No requests for time off accepted. Electronic patient rounding is utilized. Rover is used to take pictures and enter vital signs and food intake. The patient population includes those with substance abuse disorders, alcohol or opiate withdrawal, hypertension, diabetes, geriatric patients at high fall risk, and patients in pain. Periodically, patients with wounds may be cared for as well. Staffing involves managing diverse patient needs, including crisis intervention and behavior management techniques. The candidate should be experienced in medication administration, patient education, and crisis de-escalation protocols. Effective communication with team members and comprehensive patient care is essential. The position requires supervision of patients, including those with profound impulse control issues and self-injurious behaviors. Maintain a safe environment and ensure adherence to legal and ethical standards in patient care. The daily patient census is approximately 17, with a focus on various age groups including adolescents, adults, and pediatrics.
