Registered Nurse (RN) – Medical Surgical / Telemetry Float

Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift | 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care across a Medical Surgical and Telemetry float pool, covering units including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Rehab, Renal, Bariatrics, Ortho, Trauma, and ED Observation
• Manage an adult and geriatric patient population with diagnoses including cardiac conditions, neurological disorders, orthopedic and post-surgical cases, oncology, urology, gynecology, general medicine, and psych/detox
• Titrate Heparin drips and manage RT equipment including vents, CPAP, and BiPAP as required
• Float across facilities within a 60-mile zone as assigned, with facility placement communicated via schedule or just-in-time notification 1–2 hours before shift start
• Maintain flexibility to fill scheduling gaps, including weekend shifts (6–9 per 6-week schedule) and potential holiday rotation participation
• Collaborate with designated charge nurses and nurse aides while maintaining nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:5–6 based on acuity

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Kansas
• Minimum 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry experience within the last 3 years
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
• Must be present in-state for the full week of orientation
• Must be able to obtain housing within a feasible distance to float throughout the full 60-mile zone
• Valid driver's license required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a neurological nursing setting
• Experience with Alaris infusion pumps
• Familiarity with EPIC electronic health records system
