About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years acute care experience in the specialty License: Active RN license in state or compact state Certifications: ACLS, BLS Must-Have: Charge experience, telemetry test clearance Description: Day shift requires working 07:00 to 19:30. Every other weekend rotation and some holidays are expected. Previous charge experience is required. Patient ratios are typically 1-2 patients with potential for 3 if acuity is low. Staff support includes two charge nurses and one rapid response nurse per shift. The team includes nursing assistants and a unit clerk for assistance. Specialized care includes management of patients recovering from cardiac and thoracic surgeries, heart and lung transplants, and various cardiac medical conditions. Staffing assignments may change throughout the shift. Technological expertise is necessary for managing equipment such as CRRT, IABP, and ECMO. Telemetry test clearance is mandatory prior to start. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for delivering patient care. Compliance with infection prevention protocols is a priority. Nurses are expected to demonstrate proficiency in various clinical skills and patient management techniques. The environment is dynamic, with frequent planned and emergent procedures. Professional development and support will be provided to enhance nursing practices.
