About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (07:00 - 19:30); Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:30) Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 Years in Cardiovascular ICU Preferred License: Valid Nursing License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Required Must-Have: - 22 Years of Cardiac ICU Experience Preferred - Epic Experience Required - Previous Travel Experience Preferred Description: This position requires weekdays and some weekends. Rotating holidays will be part of the schedule. Staff may be required to float within units of equivalent or lower acuity levels. The estimated patient ratios are 1:1 - 2. Orientation hours will be provided. Candidates must demonstrate skills in IV start, telemetry, ventilators, and SWAN-Ganz catheters. Experience with conscious sedation, balloon pumps, and PA lines is required. The role involves care for patients in critical conditions, including heart surgery, transplants, and ECMO management. Additional responsibilities include managing therapeutic devices and emergency medications. The unit supports a daily census of 28 patients with a total of 30 beds available. Interdisciplinary support is available, including respiratory and social services. Special procedures involve the management of various cardiac conditions and acute health crises. Candidates must adhere to compliance processes relevant to employment. Two professional references are required, with at least one reference from a manager or direct supervisor.
