About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Permanent license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Cardiac experience including cardiac drips - Experience with cardiothoracic surgeries - Experience with chest pain and post-cath lab interventions - EMR experience with Epic Description: Must reside within a 75-mile radius. BLS and ACLS certifications are required. Cardiac experience is necessary, including managing cardiac drips. Experience with cardiothoracic surgeries is essential. Knowledge and experience in handling chest pain, post-cath interventions, and other cardiac-specific diagnoses are required. Experience in an EMR system, specifically Epic, is mandatory. The position involves administration of chemotherapy and management of BiPAP/CPAP. The nurse will be responsible for blood product administration and cardiac telemetry. Central line care and management, as well as care for chest tubes, is required. Feeding tube care and management, along with adherence to heparin protocols, is necessary. Experience in using high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) is required. Interpretation of dysrhythmias and application of isolation precautions must be familiar to the candidate. Cardiac drips and vasoactive drips management is part of the role. The nurse will monitor chemotherapy patients and have experience in telemetry. They will also provide care for patients post-cardiac angiogram, post-myocardial infarction, and during pre/post-cardiac procedures. Knowledge in pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure care is expected. Starting and maintaining IVs, as well as managing surgical drains, is included in responsibilities. The nurse will work with rapid response teams and manage wounds, including wound vac care. The unit provides post-operative care for cardiac and vascular-related procedures. There is some involvement in oncology services including chemotherapy for inpatients.
