About the Position
Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years experience in specialty required License: Compact or state license required Certifications: ACLS BLS Epic experience required Must-Have: Understanding of high acuity patient care CRRT experience Patient ratio of 2 to 1 both days and nights Description: Please ensure your traveler is aware of the expectations of the role. Upon accepting an assignment and starting your role, there may be expectations to assist in emergency situations. This could involve remaining on-site until the emergency passes or being part of the relief team. Details regarding pay during such events will be provided as needed. By accepting this position, you commit to reporting as instructed in the event of an emergency. Do not apply for this role if you are uncomfortable with these guidelines. Patient diagnoses may include high acuity cases and COVID care. Experience with pronation therapy and CRRT is beneficial. Familiarity with special procedures and equipment, such as pronation therapy and vasopressor titration, is required. Epic experience is preferred. Charting system experience is necessary. No block scheduling requests will be accommodated. Weekend and holiday coverage is expected. Patient population includes adults and geriatrics, with a daily census of approximately 32 patients. Interdisciplinary support is available via rapid response teams. Additional skills required include: Managing arterial lines Assisting with chest tube insertion and removal Administering blood products Caring for ventilated patients Titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips Performing phlebotomy and managing central lines Monitoring for and interpreting arterial blood gases Successful candidates will have previous charge experience and must be able to manage a patient workload effectively. Candidates with travel experience in the specialty will be given preference. Current NURSYS reports must be included for review prior to the start of the contract.
