Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to critically ill adult patients with complex medical, surgical, neurological, and cardiac conditions
- Perform detailed patient assessments and continuously monitor changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, IV therapies, blood products, vasoactive medications, and other prescribed critical care treatments
- Operate and monitor advanced ICU equipment, including ventilators, cardiac monitors, infusion pumps, and hemodynamic monitoring devices
- Recognize and respond rapidly to medical emergencies, code situations, and changes in patient status
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Assist with emergency procedures, patient stabilization, and advanced life support interventions
- Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans, medications, procedures, and recovery expectations
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and ICU quality standards
- Deliver compassionate, patient-centered care while supporting patients and families during critical illness
Requirements
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) License
- Minimum 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience
- Current BLS Certification required
- Current ACLS Certification required
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification preferred
- Experience with ventilator management, telemetry interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and critical care medications
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and emergency response skills
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and interpersonal abilities
- Experience using electronic medical record (EMR) systems preferred
- Commitment to delivering exceptional critical care nursing
