About the Position

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:30 PM – 8:00 AM) | Monday – Friday | No Major Holidays | No Weekends | No On-Call Required

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide post-anesthesia recovery care for a diverse adult inpatient and outpatient surgical population across primary and secondary recovery bays
  • Collaborate closely with holding unit staff, operating room teams, surgical providers, and anesthesia partners to deliver safe and exceptional patient care
  • Monitor and assess patients in the post-operative period, identifying and responding to changes in patient condition
  • Coordinate with surgical observation and main PACU teams for patients requiring admission or extended recovery
  • Communicate effectively with patients and their families throughout the recovery process
  • Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required

Required Qualifications

  • Active South Carolina RN license or valid Multi-State/Compact RN license in hand at time of start
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications required
  • Minimum 1 year of PACU experience required
  • Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be considered
  • Must be available Monday through Friday nights with no major holiday conflicts

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a Magnet-designated or Joint Commission accredited facility
  • Familiarity with both primary and secondary PACU recovery environments
  • Experience coordinating care with surgical observation units and multidisciplinary OR teams
