Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a Critical Care service line encompassing CVICU, COVID ICU, Medical-Surgical ICU, and PCU, with nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1–2 in ICU and 1:3–4 in PCU
- Manage complex critical care patients including those requiring manual proning, EVD, CRRT, IABP, Impella, VAD devices, chest tubes, arterial lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Titrate critical care drips including vasopressors (levophedramine), sedation (propofol), paralytics, anti-arrhythmics, dopamine, heparin, and argatroban
- Troubleshoot and assist with weaning of mechanical ventilators; operate and maintain familiarity with BiPAP, CPAP, HFNC, Vapotherm, and Glidescope during intubation
- Independently read and interpret cardiac telemetry strips using unit monitoring system; interpret ABGs
- Participate in float rotation to PCU and other critical care areas as needed based on staffing and census
Required Qualifications
- Active RN licensure in good standing
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Must pass a dysrhythmia exam with a score of 80% or higher within two attempts prior to contract signing
- Strong EKG reading and interpretation skills
- Experience with ventilator weaning and troubleshooting
- Ability to work a minimum of 4 weekend shifts per pay period and fulfill holiday rotation requirements
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with IABP and Prismaflex CRRT
- Proficiency with EVD management, chest tubes, arterial lines, and Swan-Ganz catheters
- Background in cardiac surgical care including open heart surgery, TAVR, STEMI, PCI, and CEA
- Familiarity with Nihon Kohden telemetry monitoring systems
