Contract (13 Weeks) | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (6:30 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-Hour Shifts) | 36 Guaranteed Hours per Week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 41-bed Medical-Surgical unit serving a population that includes post-surgical, UTI, sepsis, high fall risk, COPD, and CHF patients
- Perform and manage clinical skills including remote telemetry monitoring, chest tube care, NG/PEG tube management, straight cath/Foley insertion, ostomy care, Heparin drip administration, blood/blood product administration, tracheostomy care, and PCA management
- Maintain a patient ratio of 1:4–5 during day shifts and exercise strong assessment and critical thinking skills throughout each shift
- Float within skillset to a sister campus location as needed, with a minimum of 2 hours notice provided for cross-campus float assignments
- Adhere to weekend and holiday rotation requirements, including three weekends per six-week schedule and every other holiday
- May be required to precept nursing students and new hires as this is a teaching facility
Required Qualifications
- Current, active Compact RN License
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- NIHSS certification
- Minimum of 2 years of strong Medical-Surgical nursing experience
- At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment
- Trauma Level II experience required
- Recent Epic EMR experience required (checkoff class will be required upon start)
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Demonstrated proficiency with remote telemetry, complex wound care, and high-acuity Med-Surg patient management
- Strong adaptability and resilience with the ability to manage change effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Collaborative, team-oriented communication style with strong interpersonal skills
